Verizon Aggressively Upgrades Network | Becoming Go To Mobile Carrier

Verizon Aggressively Upgrades Network | Becoming Go To Mobile CarrierCoverage about Mobile Providers keeping up with demand on their networks has been a favorite topic of mine for some time. Verizon seems to be seeing the value in offering a stellar product as it aggressively moves to upgrade its network infrastructure to accommodate use of 4G LTE technology. It is fast building market confidence as the Go-To carrier for mobile. Changing business investment strategies from wire-line to mobile; it abandoned its FIOS, (FTTH) technology deployments to focus on more immediate needs as consumer demand continues to shift toward mobile devices, iPad, Smartphones.

Verizon Perceives Value in Investment Strategy

It seems that Verizon has been racking up accolades from impressive studies that consider various metrics that measure network performance. These metrics from companies like RootMetrics compare and quantify actual tests, market by market, on speeds (download-upload), dropped calls, true 4G LTE or not, including different versions LTE, WiMAX, or HPSa+. Verizon has consistently outperformed its competitors in these tests, reinforcing consumer confidence and building a premium service brand for the future. The company’s investment strategy is paying off as savvy consumers will consider not only which device to purchase, but what network best supports that device. Speed Test

Carriers often advertise their networks with one-liners which best describes the benefits for consumers. Here is some of that branding:

  • Verizon purports to have the “Fastest Most Advanced 4G Network in America.”
  • T-Mobile says it has “America’s Largest 4G network.”
  • Sprint touts itself as “America’s favorite 4G network.”
  • AT&T suggests that “Not all 4G is created equal.”

“Verizon is fast, and reliable. They most consistently hit the 4G speed mark, reaching our threshold an impressive 75% of the time. If you are dropped from 4G speeds, though, you have almost as good a chance of dropping below 500 kbps as you do of moving into 3G speed.”

RootMetrics compared 4G statistics for Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint

“At RootMetrics, we’ve sorted and analyzed over 60,000 data points to weed through the clutter and chaos. We’ve aggregated measurements from eight major markets for one seemingly innocent task: to find 4G.” Bill Moore, CEO and President, RootMetrics

Most operators indicate their networks are being upgraded and their 4th Generation service to the newest smartphones and tablets are best in class. The only way to be sure of those claims is to take the

RootMetric Compare Coverage Test, see (How does your carrier perform?)

More evidence that Verizon is backing up claims, with confidence, as a superior network compared to other competitors is a recent endorsement by J.D. Powers and Associates in its Power Circle Ratings research.

“All Ratings are based on the opinions of consumers who have actually used or owned the product or service being rated and not the opinions or preferences of J.D. Power or its analysts.” See (2012 Wireless Network Quality Performance Study)

Verizon is so concerned about the quality of it’s network, the company preformed a nationwide 4G LTE test. Such quality control sets this network apart from competitors and reinforces the commitment Verizon Wireless has in making it the Go-To Network for consumers.
